Rubbernecker has to be one of the disturbing books that I have read this year. The main character, Patrick has asperger's syndrome who starts a course in anatomy at university. His trouble starts when he develops a big interest in the body that he is studying.
At the same time we see a story developing in a neurological ward, which for me was the most difficult part of the book to read. I like to think that situations like this didn't happen but sadly..
By the end of the novel both stories have connected. There are twists throughout the book, even in characters that don't have a big role. Most of these I didn't see until I was actually reading it.
I'm really glad that I persevered with this novel and will look at her other books in the future.
