The Broken is one of those novels that is impossible to put down. Two couples are very good friends until one couples marriage collapses. The other couple end up being caught up in the middle of it despite their best intentions.
There is the marital break down between Sasha and Dan but also the increasingly difficult situation between Hannah and Josh. They want to be good friends but also have problems of their own.
Throughout the book there are excerpts from a diary of child whose identity I couldn't guess at. These became increasingly sinister towards the end of the novel.
I liked this a lot, didn't really care for any of the characters that much but the strength of the novel made it hard to put down. The ending was a bit of a shock. Definitely a twist that I hadn't seen.
The first book I've read by Tamar Cohen but it won't be the last. There is another on my TBR pile.
